Volunteering Opportunities for Women Build

Dear Women Build2 Volunteers,

The entire Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity staff wishes everyone involved with Women Build 2 a wonderful and joyous Holiday Season! We also want to thank all of you—our dedicated, enthusiastic women volunteers—in helping make our overall mission and everday goals possible for this year. It is the work you perform that is critical in every aspect to Habitat for Humanity.

Although the 2006 Building Season is almost over, always keep in mind that there will be numerous volunteering opportunities for Women Build 2 for the next upcoming year. In a matter of fact, Women Build2 already needs volunteers on January 5th and 6th to help the construction managers do some last minute touches before the state inspects the progress of the Women Build 2 home. If you are interested, please contact Sara, the IVHFH Volunteer Coordinator at ivh4hvolunteer@gmail.com or call the office at 319-337-8949.

Call for Volunteers: Blitz Build to Begin Oct 27 - 28!!

The big day is fast approaching: the Women Build 2 Blitz weekend will begin October 27 - 28. We still have slots open for the morning and afternoon shifts, so if you're willing to help out on wonderful project, working with other wonderful women, sign up now!

Women Begin Background Work at Habitat

Women from the community began building walls in the lot of the new Habitat for Humanity and ReStore. This construction is in preparation for the upcoming Blitz Build starting October 27. Christie Shipley and Jane Hagedorn are making sure this work goes smoothly. Many thanks to Viki Nelson for her excellent safety overview and getting a donation of hard hats and other safety equipment. Click here to see more photos.
